Bargarh/Gaisilet: At least 15 passengers were injured after the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a farmland near Talpali square on Gaisilet-Padmapur road in Bargarh district Thursday morning.
The accident happened when the bus was going to Sambalpur via Padmapur from from Gaisilet.
Some passengers alleged that the driver was driving the bus recklessly while having a chat with a girl sitting beside him.
Local residents and some social activists including Jhasketan Pradhan, Vinayak Prasad Guru and Bipin Bihari Sahu rescued the injured passengers.
All the injured were admitted at Talapali community health centre.
On being informed, Gaisilet police reached the spot and seized the vehicle. However, the driver fled the spot after the accident.
