BDA resolves K-7 plot record discrepancies

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has initiated swift and coordinated measures to resolve long-standing discrepancies in land area recorded in the settlement records for the K-7 Kalinga Nagar plotted scheme at Ghatikia Mouza, bringing relief to genuine allotment holders who have faced difficulties in availing post-allotment services for years. Residential plots at Ghatikia Mouza were allotted under the Kalinga Nagar Plotted Development Scheme in 1991.

During the processing of various applications submitted by the allotment holders, the BDA detected discrepancies between the plot areas mentioned in the allotment records and those reflected in the settlement records. Although the allotted plots were correctly located and identifiable on the ground, discrepancies in the revenue records created difficulties for allotment holders in availing post-allotment services.

Similar hurdles were faced while applying for lease deed-related services and conversion of leasehold properties into freehold. The affected allotment holders had earlier raised the issue with Housing and Urban Development Minister and BDA Chairman Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, seeking his intervention for an early resolution. Following the matter being brought to the government’s attention, directions were issued to ensure a time-bound resolution through appropriate revenue proceedings.
