Chennai: Bengaluru FC underlined their class, winning the ‘Southern Derby’ against Chennaiyin FC 3-1 in an ISL-IV match here Tuesday to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the table. Boithang Haokip (2nd), Miku (63rd) and Sunil Chhetri (90+4) scored for Bengaluru FC while Francisco Fernandes (33rd) got one back for Chennaiyin. Chhetri’s strike took his tally to nine for the season. The win took Bengaluru to 30 points from 14 games while Chennaiyin stayed on 23 having played one game less.
