Hatadihi: Hatadihi Block Education Officer (BEO) Rajib Dalei in Kendujhar district has been suspended for alleged negligence in work related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Dalei received the suspension order through a special messenger around noon Wednesday and left his office with the letter, officials said.

Repeated attempts to contact him by phone were unsuccessful, and his response could not be obtained.

Kendujhar District Education Officer (DEO) Purnachandra Bariha said Dalei was suspended by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department through letter No.

23270 dated September 7, 2026. The suspension was ordered over alleged negligence in SIR-related work, Bariha said.

Dalei had previously faced allegations of irregularities, including arbitrary transfers of teachers in the name of deputation, shifting teachers assigned to SIR-related work at his discretion, frequent absence from the office and negligence in school inspections.

It was not immediately clear which specific lapse formed the basis for the suspension.

Officials also did not make the suspension order public, leaving the precise grounds for the action unclear.
