Bharat Bandh: Odisha govt employees asked to reach office by 9.30 am

Bhubaneswar: In view of the nationwide bandh called by Congress to protest against the steep hike in fuel prices Monday, the state government Saturday asked the government employees to reach offices by 9.30 am.

The Home Department issued a circular to District Collectors and Magistrates in this regard.

“You are requested to take all preventive measures to maintain law and order and ensure maintenance of essential services in the district. You are also requested to ask the officers and staff to attend office by 9.30 am positively,” the circular read.

It is apprehended that the activists may stop vehicles, rail traffic and close down business establishments and picket government offices, banks and educational institutions, it added.

The Congress leaders Friday announced that it will observe a nationwide protest Monday over the rising fuel prices.
