Bhopal artists captivate visitors

BHUBANESWAR: Shan-e-Bhopal, a painting, print and ceramics exhibition, was organised by Hibiscus Art Group at Modern Art gallery here Sunday.

xhibitors from Bhopal to showcase their art forms in the temple city. Artist Ananat K Sahu of Khairagarh, Amit Kumar of Varansi, Arvind Sharma of Karnal, Balasaheb N Choudhary of Pune, Shashi kumar of Mumbai and J D Manikpuri of Bhopal presented their works at the expo.

These works were based on various concepts. Artist J D Manikpuri of Bhopal depicted human nature and a part of day-to-day life. His works included simple instances like people moving in autos and buses from one place to another. Artist also depicted the croaking of frogs during the rainy season.

Ananat K Sahu of Khairagarh said, “My painting is on lithography which is made from stone. The works are based on animals and birds. It also represents contemporary art form based on the current society and new generation. The title Shan-e-Bhopal represents the art form of Bhopal.”

Organiser Tarakant said, “We organise such exhibitions all the time so as to give a chance to budding artists to showcase their talent. The expo is also aimed at providing art lovers with the opportunity to witness art forms not only of Bhubaneswar but of various other states.”
