New Delhi: India has officially submitted its bid to host the under-20 football World Cup, AIFF president Praful Patel confirmed Tuesday. “Besides hosting this tournament (FIFA U-17 World Cup), India has formally put its bid for the World Cup U-20 to be played in 2019,’ Patel told reporters. “We have no commitment yet, of course because it is not yet decided at the level of FIFA. But we do hope that we will be able to convince the FIFA executive committee after successfully hosting the U-17 WC,” he added.
