Basudevpur: Two youths were killed and another seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a road divider and an electricity pole near MLA Colony Square in Bhadrak district, Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Gobinda Biswal and Kahnucharan Nayak, both from Sanakrushnapur panchayat.
The injured rider, Sankarshan Nayak, also from the same village, was initially treated at Basudevpur hospital before being referred to Bhadrak for further treatment.
According to preliminary information, the three were travelling on the motorcycle from Basudevpur market towards Jamujhadi when the rider apparently lost control of the vehicle.
The motorcycle first hit the divider in the middle of the road and then crashed into an electricity pole.
Relatives and family members of the two deceased reached Basudevpur hospital following the accident, where a sombre atmosphere prevailed.
