Barang: Three persons were arrested Sunday on charges of stealing a motorcycle here last April 22.
Barang police said they have arrested J Ramu (25) and Babu Sethy (28) of Machua Bazaar area under Mangalabag police limits and Sudhir Nayak (33) of Thori Sahi in Cuttack for stealing the motorcycle of Hemanta Kumar Sahu, who hails from Khannagar area in the Silver City and is currently residing at Kunheipada area here, April 22 this year. The stolen motorcycle and an auto-rickshaw have been recovered from them.
Police said they zeroed in on the culprits after ascertaining their involvement in the heist from the CCTV footage near the crime spot.
“On the basis of a complaint lodged by Sahu, we have registered a case (70/18) and subsequently made the arrests,” a senior Barang police said, adding that four cases are already lodged against Sethy with the Mangalabag police.
The accused have been produced in a court, the officer added.
