Bhubaneswar, Nov 6: Bir Birsa emerged champions of the Gati Krushna Memorial football league (Division B) blanking Neel Kamal Club 2-0 in the final at the Unit-I Boys HS Ground here Friday.
In a lop-sided final, Bir Birsa with superior skill and better ball possession prevailed over their opponents scoring both the goals in the second half. Rup Sirkar got the opener with a brilliant shot from 25 yards out. Karun Murmu made the issue safe with another strike in the 65th minute.
TM Menon Singh of Regional Club emerged the top scorer, while Somesh Mohanty of Mukteswar Club bagged the ‘Promising Young Player’ award.
Prasant bags bronze
Prasant Mohapatra of Orissa bagged a bronze medal in the .22 prone (open sight) event of the recently-concluded 25th All India Shooting Championships at Asansol, West Bengal.
