Los Angeles: Alejandro G. Inarritu bagged the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for “Birdman”. The 67th annual DGA Awards ceremony, hosted by Jane Lynch, took place here Saturday, reports variety.com. Inarritu defeated Richard Linklater (“Boyhood”), Clint Eastwood (“American Sniper”), Morten Tydlum (“The Imitation Game”) and Wes Anderson (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”). All three major TV awards were won by female directors. “Homeland” director Lesli Linka Glatter won for television drama series; Jill Soloway bagged the comedy series award for “Transparent” and Lisa Cholodenko took home the TV movie-miniseries award for “Olive Kitteredge”.
