Mumbai: Bappi Lahiri turns 68 today.

The legendary music composer and singer often grabs headlines for wearing heavy gold ornaments.

He was once embroiled in a controversy involving the hit film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil directed by Karan Johar featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Lisa Haydon and Imran Ali Abbas.

Remember that scene in ADHM where Ranbir and Anushka play a guessing game? One of the songs is a Bappi Lahiri composition, Taki O Taki (with RK mouthing the lines thus: Tacky O Tacky) from Himmatwala.

Bappi’s son Bappa Lahiri talking to a leading publication said that after he saw Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, he was pretty upset after seeing his father’s song being parodied. When he told his father Bappi about the song, he too was very upset. In the same breath, Bappa also admitted that his father did not care about it so much and that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was so bad, that it hardly mattered now.
