BJB on top with 93.1% cut-off in Science

Bhubaneswar, June 13: The higher education department Monday published the first phase of cut-off marks for admissions to various Plus II colleges in the state.
Data released by the department says, the first cut-off mark percentage for Science stream in BJB Junior College is 93.10 – the highest in the state. The cut-off percentage of the college for Arts stream stands at 72.67 and that of the Commerce 81.70.
In Arts stream, Krushna Chandra Pipili (Junior) College, Jagai of Balasore district has set the highest cut-off mark of 76.33 per cent while BJB (Junior) College is at 10th position with 72.67 per cent.
Similarly, Seven Hills Junior College, Pardhipali of Sambalpur district and Vesaja Patel (Govt Vocational Junior) College, Duduka of Sundargarh district have the highest cut-off percentage of 87.4 and 82 in Commerce and Vocational streams respectively.
The cut-off marks for admissions to Ravenshaw Junior College are 93 per cent (Science), 79.50 per cent (Commerce) and 71.17 per cent (Arts).
Besides, the first phase cut-off percentage for Rama Devi Junior College in the Science stream is 85.67, for Arts stream it is 68.83 and for Commerce, it is 67.67.
“The cut-off marks have witnessed a rise this time because of better results in HSC examination. We hope there will not be any large scale vacancies. For information about admission process we have SMS, e-mail and mobile application facilities apart from a helpline number which students can use to obtain status of their application,” said Plus II admission in-charge Mihir Kumar Das.
It is mandatory for the students to take admissions in their designated colleges, failing which they will be excluded from the e-admission for this academic session, Das added.
In the first phase, students will be admitted to the colleges of their choice from June 16 to 21. The second phase cut-off percentage will be published June 25 while the third phase cut-off marks percentage will be announced July 4.
