BJD leaders Atanu, Arun to be resummoned by CBI

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) will soon summon two heavyweight BJD leaders again after they failed to depose before it on the scheduled dates of January 28 and 29. The CBI sent notices to former ministers Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, MLA from Mahakalapada in Kendrapara and Arun Sahu, Nayagarh MLA, relating to the Seashore chit-fund scam.

Sources in the central agency informed that it will again summon the two MLAs as they have failed to appear the first time.  The Opposition had earlier alleged that Arun Sahu allegedly received the Youth Icon award for the year 2010 from a media house which was jointly sponsored by chit-fund firms Artha Tatwa, SLB and Seashore.

Chit-fund firms duped over 20 lakh small depositors in the state to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore. At present, 44 ponzi firms are under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate and CBI.
