BJD terms Shah as a ‘political Blue Whale’

Bhubaneswar: Coming down heavily on BJP president Amit Shah for his remarks against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the BJD Friday sarcastically compared the BJP president with ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ game, an online game that leads youths to take extreme steps.
BJD general secretary and former minister Arun Sahoo appealed to the youth of Orissa to “steer clear of the line of Amit Shah as he is a political Blue Whale who misleads
people.”
“Amit Shah’s language reminds us of demons like Ravana and Kansa; Youth should stay away from a party like BJP which has been spreading hatred across the nation after coming to power in 2014,” said Sahoo, who was accompanied by BJD leaders PK Deb and Sanjay Das Burma. They might have succeeded in other states, but peace loving Oriya people are not going to be deceived by their words, Sahoo added.
Reacting to Shah’s allegation on performance of the state government, Das Burma said, “The annual economic growth of Orissa is higher than that of national level as well as some BJP-ruled states, including Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.”
Senior BJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Keshari Deb said, “The BJP leaders are blaming us on the issue of Nagada malnutrition time and again whereas such incidents also happen in BJP-ruled states, including in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra among others.”
Hitting back at Shah’s claim on allocation of Central assistance to Orissa during the Modi government, the BJD leaders dared Shah to come out with facts about the resources they have generated from the state in terms of various kinds of taxes and on railway.
