BJD’s ‘Honour to Mother’ is a farce: Niranjan Patnaik

Bhadrak: Slamming the BJD led government, PCC chairman Niranjan Patnaik said the BJD’s ‘Honour to Mother’ (Maa Ku Samman) is just plain farce.

Patnaik targeted Naveen Patnaik led government in his speech at a Congress-organised ‘Mahila Samman Samavesh’ at Bhadrak district Congress office.

Referring to the increased number of incidents of women harassment and violence during BJD’s 18 years rule, Patnaik wryly wished to know it the increase in violence against women was how BJD pays ‘Honour to Mother’.

Patniak further alleged that the government’s agenda of lapping praises by furnishing false information is just a sport that they enjoy. “If the Congress is voted to power, not only women’s honour will be protected, also their pension will be hiked to Rs1000.

While the meeting was chaired by chairperson, district congress’ woman wing Sabita Chand, several leaders including PCC president Chiranjib Biswal, PCC vice president Ananta Sethy, state secretary Sulochana Nayak, ex-minister Jagannath Rout, ex-MP Murali Jena and some other prominent names attended the meeting. These leaders said in their respective speeches that the party is determined to waive farmers’ loans and to provide solar pumps.
