Harabhanga: Police Friday recovered a blood-soaked body of a youth lying by the roadside near Singanibida under Purunakatak police limits in Boudh district.
The police have identified the deceased as Arjun Patra (35), a resident of Badikata village of Tileswar panchayat under Harabhanga block.
Local residents first spotted the body in the morning and then they immediately informed the police. After a while, a team from Purunakatak police station reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post mortem. A case has been registered in this regard.
The deceased’s family said he was working as a wielding mechanic with a crusher company. A word has been doing the rounds that he was murdered over a love affair.
According to police, some miscreants had killed Arjun Thursday night and dumped the body by the roadside. However, they are yet to reach any conclusion as to the reason behind the murder.
A detailed investigation is underway.
