Blue Whale Challenge game: Youth makes suicide bid

Ghasipura: A youth has reportedly made a suicide attempt by drinking poison while playing Blue Whale Challenge at Tabhakud area under Anandapur block in Keonjhar Saturday.

The youth identified as Ajay Patra (25) was admitted to Anandapur hospital in critical condition.

According to reports, Ajay has been working in a cotton mill in Tamil Nadu. He was keen to play the Blue Whale Challenge after seeing it on television.

However, the owner of the cotton mill came to know that Ajay was addicted with the online game. He forcibly took away his smart phone from Ajay. But that time, Ajay had crossed three phases.

During Dussehra vacation, Ajay had come to his house. Saturday morning, he had made suicide bid by drinking poison. His family members rushed him to the hospital.

Boy critical after playing game 

Bhapur: A youth sliced his hand and sustained critical injuries after allegedly playing the Blue Whale Challenge game at Begunia village under this block in Nayagarh district Saturday.

The victim was identified as Rajkishore Moharana alias Raju (17), son of Trilochan Moharan in the area. He is a school dropout after studying up to class VIII.  This is the first of its kind incident in Bhapur block where a youth was rendered critical after the playing the killer game. The incident has sparked shockwaves in the area.

The matter came to fore family members found him writhing in pain with blood oozing out from his hand from elbow to the wrist with a picture of fish drawn on his hand.  They immediately rushed him to the Bhapur hospital where doctors shifted him to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar after examining his condition.    PNN
