BMC seals sub-collector, tehsil offices after many staffs tested Covid-19 positive

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation authorities Friday sealed the offices of Sub-Collector and tehsildar here for two days as many staffs tested Covid-19 positive, an official informed.

“In larger public interest and to contain further spread of the virus, both the government offices have been sealed for two days i.e. September 17 and 18,” a notification issued by the civic body mentioned.

Besides, the civic body also laid down certain conditions for respective office Heads as per the Covid-19 safety protocols and ordered for premises of both the government offices to be sanitised soon.

The notification also emphasised that no one shall be allowed either to enter into or go out of the office premises during the notified period of two days excepting authorised personnel of the civic body.

Meanwhile, the infected employees have been directed to remain in home isolation. If the issue need medical treatment, the heads of the offices will contact BMC right away.

Notably, an RT-PCR test camp will be conducted for staffs of the two offices by September 20. Respective officials, subordinates, housekeeping and security personnel shall also be invariably tested for Covid-19.
