Nabarangpur: Forest officials Tuesday arrested two persons for killing a boar under Maidalpur forest range in this district and produced them in court.
The accused were identified as Balaram Majhi of Patiadangari village and Dumar Pujari of Nuaguda village. The officials seized two kg of boar meat and a motorcycle from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off about killing of a boar by the poachers near Barli reserved forest, Maidalpur forester Umakanta Patnak and forest guard Ramakanta Sahoo conducted a raid and arrested the accused.
The seized meat was examined by a veterinary surgeon.
