Bhadrak: In a shocking incident, the disrobed body of a woman was found lying in the middle of a field near Bangalisahi under Ganijang panchayat while the body of a minor girl was discovered below a bridge under Rural police limits in Bhadrak district Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sukanti Munda, 28, wife of Raju Munda, while the minor girl was identified as her daughter Mini Munda, 6. They are natives of Jalanga village under Rural police limits in Bhadrak district. According to the police, Raju along with his wife and daughter had been residing at Baniagudi village under Ganijang panchayat and were working as labourers. Police said that the woman and her daughter were murdered after a verbal duel over pending wages. However, the husband of the deceased woman has alleged that his wife has been raped and murdered. He further said his minor daughter was killed by the murderer as she was the sole eyewitness of the incident. On being informed, Bhadrak Sadar SDPO Sourav Otta along with his team reached the spot, seized and sent the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem. Police have detained a minor boy in this connection and an investigation has been launched into the case
