Aska: Police Thursday recovered the body of a newborn baby girl from underneath a tree near Baghua Setu under Aska police limits in Ganjam district.
According to sources, some locals spotted the body dumped under the tree in the morning and alerted the cops. On being informed, Aska police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem and launched a probe into the matter. After receiving the autopsy report we can comment on whether the baby was born dead or was killed after birth,” a senior police officer said.
