Bolangir: Bolangir Police have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in robbery incidents that took place on the outskirts of the town, police said Thursday.

The accused were identified as Situ alias Akash Swain, BJ Nag from Bolangir district and Sanskar aka Om Saraf from Sambalpur district. Following the arrest, the three accused were produced before a court Wednesday.

Police informed that the miscreants Tuesday evening looted a two-wheeler, a mobile phone and some cash near Khujenpali from a Forest Department official named Niranjan Biswal while the victim was returning to his home at Bileikani village in Bolangir district.

Afterwards, the dacoits fled the spot and looted another man near Chuinbandha on National Highway-26 under Puintala Police Station. They plundered a Royal Enfield Bullet from the second victim, police said.

Subsequently, the two victims lodged FIRs at local police stations. Based on the FIRs, cops lodged cases and later, managed to arrest the accused after checking CCTV footage and recovered the looted items from the possession of the accused, police informed.

Police informed that Situ and BJ Nag have criminal antecedents.
