Banki: A 12-year-old boy sustained injuries after a utility pole in dilapidated condition collapsed on him at Pathuripada village under Banki block in Cuttack district Thursday.
The injured boy Subham Behera, a student of a local school, sustained injuries on his waist, his father said. The incident occurred when he was returning home after purchasing provisions from Brahmapura market.
The bicycle he was riding also broke down in the mishap. Family member rushed the boy to the primary health centre and later shifted him to the Banki sub-divisional hospital. Locals termed the incident as a result of negligence of the energy department.
