Cuttack: Biju Pattnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO), Cuttack, has unveiled its flagship initiative, ‘Rewind and Reframe,’ a Thursday talk series designed to spark dialogue and inspire creative minds.
Conceived by BPFTIO chairman Himanshu Sekhar Khatua, the landmark initiative is envisioned as a dynamic platform that fosters dialogue, encourages thoughtful reflection, and sparks inspiration.
Speaking about the initiative, Khatua said, “Rewind and Reframe is more than a talk series as it is a bridge between experience and aspiration.
By engaging with creative luminaries, we aim to inspire our students and encourage them to hone their research capabilities.

It will enrich their perspectives and preserve invaluable knowledge for generations to come.”
“The initiative is in alignment with the spirit of National Educational Policy, 2020 and serves to redefine learning, experimental education, critical thinking, interdisciplinary engagement, and mentorship,” he added.
Speaking on the new initiative, institute Director Suvra Ranjan Ray said, “The series is designed to ignite curiosity and provide insights into diverse fields that include cinema, media, culture, education and emerging technologies.
Each session will offer valuable perspectives that go beyond textbooks and classrooms.”
The inaugural event was graced by eminent director and thespian Ananta Mahapatra and Padma awardee Adwaita Charan Garanayak, who shared their creative journeys and insights with the audience.
Federation of Film Society of India chairman Premendra Majumdar extended his best wishes and reflections through a video message.
The occasion also marked the unveiling of the Rewind and Reframe logo and the launch of the Campus Film Society.
The programme concluded with a screening of the acclaimed film ‘Krantidhara’, followed by an interactive session with students, faculty, and guests.
TV Engineering-cum- Academics head and Sound department HOD Rakesh Kumar Das delivered the vote of thanks.
