Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: In a move to improve the state of affairs at Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), the state government has recommended certain measures such as publication of results in time, digitisation of lecture notes and staff recruitment among others.

In a recent meeting, BPUT has been asked to publish long-pending results of the 2012-14 and 2013-15 M. Tech batches by June. The university was earlier asked to publish an apology on its website for the delay in publishing results.

Moreover, in order to usher in transparency in the upcoming examinations, the university has been asked to prepare a dynamic supervisor list that will be finalised after a three-tiered filtering process. The list will first be prepared by the director of examinations which will then be reshuffled by the registrar. The list will then be finalised by the vice-chancellor.

The varsity will also have to upload three sets of model questions along with answer sheets on the university’s website in order to provide better understanding of the examination pattern to the students.

The VC has also been asked to take steps to increase Ph D intakes in the university. In view of the automation of the examination, BPUT will prepare a detailed project report by February this year.

Moreover, the university will also form separate committees for the preparation of lecture notes. The committee will have to finish the digitisation of the lecture notes by mid-February. Retired faculties can also be engaged as experts for moderation of the notes.

Apart from this, the VC can also consider introduction of new postgraduate programmes in the institutions. He will also take steps for completion of the recruitment of the teaching staff in the universities as well as the constituent colleges by January-end.
