New Delhi: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal Sunday welcomed the outcome of the 18th BRICS Summit, saying the New Delhi Declaration 2026 incorporated all the key issues raised by India, including terrorism and terror financing.

He said the BRICS grouping had sent a strong message against terrorism by condemning the Pahalgam terror attack.

“The New Delhi Declaration adopted at the BRICS Summit included all the issues raised by India. The Pahalgam terror attack was strongly condemned, while a strong resolution on terror financing was also passed,” Khandelwal told IANS.

His remarks came after BRICS leaders adopted the New Delhi Declaration at the summit, with terrorism emerging as one of the key issues addressed in the joint document.

Shiv Sena MLC Manisha Kayande also highlighted the significance of the BRICS countries taking a united position against terrorism. She said representatives of various countries attending the summit had raised their voices against terrorism and condemned the Pahalgam attack.

“The representatives of various countries who attended the BRICS Summit have all raised their voices against terrorism and condemned the Pahalgam attack. This is an important development,” Kayande said.

She added that the collective condemnation showed that countries participating in the summit did not support terrorism in any form.

BJP MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal described the summit as a successful event that had conveyed a strong message to the international community. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had helped build consensus among participating countries, particularly on development and ending ongoing wars.

“Peace and harmony are essential for the development of countries, which can be achieved through mutual cooperation,” Sigriwal said, adding that it was a matter of great pride for India. He also thanked Prime Minister Modi for successfully organising the summit.

The New Delhi Declaration 2026, adopted at the 18th BRICS Summit in the national capital, strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam last year, in which 26 people were killed and several others injured.

The BRICS leaders reiterated their resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms, including the cross-border movement of terrorists, terror financing and the provision of safe havens, while calling for zero tolerance against terrorism.

“We express strong condemnation of any acts of terrorism as criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, whenever, wherever and by whomsoever committed. We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025, during which 26 people were killed and many more injured. We reaffirm our commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including the cross-border movement of terrorists, terrorism financing and safe havens,” the joint declaration said.

During the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, Pakistan-backed terrorists gunned down 26 tourists after identifying their religion, in one of the most brutal incidents targeting civilians in recent years.

“We reiterate that terrorism should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group and that all those involved in terrorist activities and their support must be held accountable and brought to justice in accordance with relevant national and international law. We urge to ensure zero tolerance for terrorism and reject double standards in countering terrorism,” the declaration added.
