Koraput: Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the mutilated body of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan from the railway tracks of Koraput-Rayagada line near New Colony at Landiguda in Koraput district Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Dhrubaraj Pradhan, a resident of Jharsuguda district, police said.
As per reports, Pradhan was posted at a BSF camp in the locality and had been residing with his wife in Koraput. Sources said there was a heated argument between the couple Monday night for some unknown reason. Following the tiff, Dhrubaraj left home late in the night and went near the railway tracks in front of New Colony on his bike.
Locals spotted the mutilated body of the BSF personnel lying on the railway tracks Tuesday morning and informed the police. The head of the jawan was found lying 50 feet away from the torso. However, the cause behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
Upon being informed, BSF authorities along with officials from GRP, Koraput and Town PS reached the spot and seized the body after a detailed investigation. They sent the body to Koraput DHH for post-mortem.
After a preliminary probe, police suspected that Pradhan might have committed suicide following the family feud.
