Bhubaneswar: Sparsh Hospital organised a breast cancer awareness camp – ‘Winners of Life’- here, Saturday. The hospital created awareness on various symptoms of the disease and its treatment. Executive Director of Sparsh Hospital Dr Ghanshyam Biswas said, “Around 50-60 per cent people die due to breast cancer. But proper awareness and treatment at early stage can bring hope of survival to the patients. There are risk factors that cause breast cancer including consumption of alcohol, smoking, high blood pressure, lack of exercise, junk food, late marriage and others.” “Moreover, the experts claim that changing lifestyle and inherited genetic factors are other causes of breast cancer. But the disease can be identified easily with the help of mammography machine,” said Biswas. Hospital management director Dr (Col) B Behera, consultant surgery Dr Madhuri Patnaik and others were present.
