Capacity building training programme for teachers

Bhubaneswar: To sensitize and empower teachers to address the learning needs of children with disabilities and children belonging to disadvantaged groups, a regional-level capacity-building training programme will be organized at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), NCERT, Bhubaneswar from December 18 to 22. The programme has been launched by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Rehabilitation Council of India and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi.

Key resource persons from Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar Andaman and Nicobar Islands are participating in the programme. They will serve as master trainers in their respective states/UTs to train teachers at district levels on equitable and inclusive education for children with disabilities. The participating teachers will further organize a similar capacity-building programme, called “NISHTHA-Equitable and Inclusive Education” at state/district/block level organisation. The follow-up capacity-building programmes for school teachers and other school functionaries will be conducted by the respective states.
