Cattle-laden van seized; 11 calves rescued in Tihidi

Tihidi: A cattle-laden van was seized and 11 calves were rescued at Pirhat Bazaar on Bhadrak-Chandbali road in Bhadrak district, late Friday night.

As per the report, Bajrang Dal activists got information about cattle smuggling in the vehicle bearing registration number (OR-22-0979). The cattle-laden vehicle was going to Bhadrak.

Getting information about the cattle smuggling from unknown sources, some Bajrang Dal activists waylaid the vehicle at Pirhat Bazaar and handed over the vehicle to Pirhat police.

Acting on the complaint by an activist of Bajrang Dal, police registered a case (No-122/23) and started an investigation in this regard. The rescued calves were shifted to a cow-shelter nearby. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot.
