New Delhi, August 4: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP from Dhenkanal Tathagata Satpathy Thursday alleged that the Central team, which was sent to Nagada in Jajpur district to review the alleged death of kids due to malnourishment, was under political pressure.
“Recently, a Central team visited Nagada in Jajpur district to review the death of about 19 children. Although the panel expressed satisfaction over the work undertaken by the state government, the team did not share the details of its findings with the state government which hints at a political pressure from Delhi,” Satpathy said in the Lok Sabha.
The MP added that the panel shared its experience with the media persons in Bhubaneswar but it did not keep the state government in the loop about its findings, though the state government fully supported the team during its visit to the state.
Satpathy was speaking during the Zero Hour of the Lower House where other BJD members also raised issues on diverse topics to bring those to the notice of the Union government as well as the members of the Lower House of the Parliament.
