Bhubaneswar: The Centre has formally accepted the resignation of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena Thursday, completing the process of his exit from the Indian Police Service (IPS).
Meena had earlier submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. The Odisha government subsequently forwarded his resignation to the Union Home Ministry along with the required documents for approval.
The state Home Department had reviewed his request before sending it to the Centre. With the Union Home Ministry approving the resignation, the 2013-batch IPS officer’s service has formally come to an end.
Meena has served as superintendent of police in several districts of Odisha, including Kataka, Ganjam and Malkangiri. During his postings, he handled law-and-order duties, anti-Maoist operations and crime control.
After taking charge as Bhubaneswar DCP, Meena also led police efforts against cybercrime and drug trafficking in the capital.
