New Delhi, June 2: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has declined permission to start a new post-graduate (PG) super specialty course proposed by SCB Medical College and Hospital.
In a letter to SCB authorities, the ministry has stated that the Centre has disapproved of the proposal to launch a ‘‘Doctor in Medicine (DM) course in Hepatology (liver studies) while the college has been given the chance to apply afresh for the next academic year for consideration by the ministry.’’
“After consideration of the recommendations of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the hearing committee the Central government has decided to accept the recommendations of the MCI and hereby disapproves of your request for the academic session 2017-18. However you are free to apply afresh for the next academic session,” the letter to SCB said. PNN
