Cuttack: Chand Club registered an emphatic 5-0 win over Mahaveer Club in a match of the ongoing Kailash Chandra Das Memorial U-17 Boys’ football tournament at the Reserve Police ground here Monday. Sk Rizwan of Chand Club was adjudged best player of the match.
In another match of the day Young Utkal Club played out a goalless draw against Dillip Tirkey XI. Sukur Tirkey of Dillip Tirkey XI was nominated the best player of the match.
Phulbani, Khurda win
Phulbani and Khurda registered comprehensive victories over their respective opponents in the matches of the 58th Senior Men Inter-District Football Championships for Sahani Cup across different venues Monday.
Phulbani edged out Bargarh 3-2 at Titlagarh while Khurda triumphed over Nayagarh 3-1 at Sadeipali. In other matches of the day Rourkela Steel Plant scraped past Mayurbhanj 11-10 via tie-breaker after both the teams ended on 2-2 in the regulation time at Loisingha. Deogarh beat Kendrapada 2-0 at Bolangir.
