Chhattisgarh cops mount ponzi raids at Jaleswar

Jaleswar: A team of police officials from Chhattisgarh reached Jaleswar in Balasore district Tuesday to nab some people accused of committing financial fraud through chit fund company Green Ray International.

Notably, Green Ray International has allegedly fleeced nearly Rs 2,000 crore from thousands of people in the country while the firm is involved in a Rs 500-crore fraud in Odisha.

Following a directive from the state government, the head office of the ponzi company was sealed in May, 2013. The company had three heads – Sahiuddin, Ayub Saha and Khalik Saha.

Sahiuddin had earlier been arrested from Kolkata airport while Ayub Saha was arrested from Chhattisgarh. Managing director of the company Khalik Saha is still absconding.

Tuesday, four police officials from the neighboring state raided the houses of Khalik Saha, Toimuddin and Ajit Saha in Jaleswar area. However, none of them was traced out.

It may be noted here that a six member team of CBI led by DSP Ashok Kumar had arrested two of the accomplices of the chit fund fraudsters in July, 2020.

After the raids Tuesday, others involved in the financial wrongdoings are panicked.
