Chief Minister gives laptops to Plus II students

Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed laptops to meritorious Plus II students from Khurda district at Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Autonomous College here Thursday.
“We have been constantly encouraging students to opt for brighter careers. This scheme is in line with our ambition for the students. This will provide freedom to the students. Our educational institutions have started skill development training courses at both junior and degree levels to equip students with good employment opportunities,” said Patnaik.
The chief minister further said that boys and girls of the state will be trained in leadership and entrepreneurship programmes to keep pace with the current competitive world. “Our educational institutions will soon house career counseling cells and language labs. We will also equip campuses with WI-FI facilities for the larger benefit of students,” said Patnaik.
Culture and tourism minister Ashok Panda said in his address to the gathering proposed that BJB Autonomous College here be provided a unitary university status.
The ceremony was also attended, among others, by higher education minister Pradeep Panigrahi, MLAs Priyadarshi Mishra and Bijay Mahanty.
