A dialogue between Chinese and Indian scholars organised recently in Bhubaneswar discussed the growing importance of the two largest Asian countries in relation to the rest of the world.
The two-day conference ‘India, China and the new world order’ was inaugurated at International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar November 26.
Along with the scholars from the B-school, a team of 11 delegates, headed by Professor Yang Xiannong, from the Chinese institute Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences took part in the conference.
Professor Ramesh Behl, the director of IMI in city, highlighted the need for academic joint research between India and China. Xiannong, the director of the Chinese institute, emphasized the need for greater collaboration between these countries for a ‘new world order’.
Anirudh Behera, general manager of IDBI Bank, set the tone of the conference by articulating the challenges of banking sector faced by these countries. Abhijit Pati, a CEO from Vedanta group, in his speech addressed the vast scope of Sino-India cooperation for business.
The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, research scholars and students from various well-known institutes and universities. Earlier, a total of 64 research papers were received for the conference, but only 38 papers were selected for presentation.
At the end, the IMI director, revealed that the next conference is going to be scheduled tentatively in October, 2017 at Sichuan Academy in China.
The conference was convened by Professor Ramakrushna Panigrahi and Professor Supriti Mishra of IMI.
