Bhubaneswar: In a step towards advancing healthcare innovation and promoting clinical entrepreneurship, AIIMS- Bhubaneswar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation Thursday.
The collaboration aims to create a robust platform for developing, validating, and deploying healthcare technologies, accelerate healthcare innovation growth and attract healthcare startups.
It’ll also help to establish joint Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics and digital health. The MoU signing ceremony was held at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar in the presence of executive director Ashutosh Biswas and KIIT-TBI CEO and BCKIC chairman Mrutyunjay Suar.

“This partnership will position AIIMS-Bhubaneswar as a national translational innovation hub, fostering medical product development, technology advancement, effective IP management, and boosting clinical entrepreneurship,” Biswas said on the occasion.
Under this MoU, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, KIIT-TBI, and BCKIC will collaborate on innovation and startup initiatives, including bootcamps, regulatory workshops, and startup–investor roundtables.
Similarly, efforts will be promoted in skill development, entrepreneurship, clinical innovation, technology transfer, and incubation of healthcare startups.
A Centre of Excellence (CoE) will be established, equipped with high-end diagnostic tools, clinical validation pathways, and advanced research facilities.
The ceremony was also graced by BCKIC CEO and KIIT-TBI advisor Namrata Misra, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar dean Satyajeet Misra and MoU committee secretary Rituparna Maiti, KIIT-TBI (Tech-Innovation) manager Jayalaxmi Dash and BCKIC manager Arpan Ghosh.
