Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will conduct a comprehensive stray dog census at all wards under its jurisdiction in two phases from September 17 to 24, official sources said Saturday.

As many as 410 teams have been formed to carry out the exercise, with surveys to be conducted at the street level.

The census will be conducted scientifically in two rounds for each street from 5 am to 7 am daily.

The first phase of the enumeration will be from September 17 to 20, while the second phase will be from September 21 to 24.

Mayor and Commissioner of BMC have appealed to citizens to extend full cooperation and support to the census teams to ensure the success of this first-of-its-kind initiative in the state.
