Rupsa: Tension prevailed at Silada village under Sadar block in Balasore district over the alleged kidnap of a minor girl Saturday. In a fit of rage, family members of the girl attacked the house of the “abductor” and set it on fire. Seven family members of the abductor youth were injured in the attack. Another version is that the two eloped.
The seven were Anirudh Das, his son Sarbeswar Das, daughter-in-law Kabita Das, nephew Tapan Das and Murali Das, grandson Krishna and neighbour Benudhar Madual. All the injured were admitted to the Basta community health centre (CHC).
According to sources, Anirudh’s son Hitesh kidnapped the girl. Angry over this, the minor girl’s family launched an attack on Hitesh’s family members.
Anirudh refuted the allegations of kidnap and claimed that the two were in love and might have eloped. Police registered two cases and launched a probe.
