Class IX boy kills mother after she scolded him for skipping studies

Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old boy studying in Class IX killed his widowed mother after she scolded him for not studying at Pindrai Saraf village under Hivarkhedi police outpost of Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh late Saturday night, police said.

The teenager had changed his blood stained clothes and was preparing to escape when the police nabbed him.

The deceased has been identified as Kumari Uike (35), wife of late Jogesh Uike, police said.

Primary investigations have revealed that the accused also has a minor sister. Kumari used to work as a labourer and did petty jobs to earn a living after the death of her husband.

The accused had skipped studies and had run away to a relative’s place last Friday. Kumari went to the relative’s house and brought him back this Friday.

In a fit of rage, she scolded him and also beat him up for skipping studies with a wooden stick. Irate, the boy took an iron rod and assaulted her on the head and neck, killing her on the spot.

After committing the crime, he changed the blood stained clothes and had escaped to a relatives place. After getting information, police arrived at the village and made the arrest.

“He was produced before the juvenile justice board which sent him to reform home Sunday,” Hivarkheda police outpost incharge, KK Dongre said.
