CM flags off pilgrimage train from Bhubaneswar railway station

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik virtually flagged off the special Barishtha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra pilgrimage train from Bhubaneswar railway station Saturday.

The special senior citizens tirth yatra train departed from Bhubaneswar railway station for Ajmer and Pushkar Saturday.

CM said that for the last two years, this pilgrimage train was stopped due to the pandemic. He said that senior citizens will return with a new and unique experience from this trip.

The special train will take around one thousand senior citizen pilgrims to various religious places including Ajmer and Pushkar.

Senior citizens from seven districts including Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal have been selected for this journey.

The government of Odisha started this Barishtha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana to facilitate free pilgrimage for the senior citizens of the state to various places of India. About seven special trains have been planned. The government has made arrangements for free travel, accommodation, food and sightseeing for the pilgrims.
