CM increases BSKY benefits for women to 7 Lakh

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday announced that the health coverage benefits for women under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) has been increased to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 5 lakh.

Announcing this at the State Secretariat here, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “Today I had a discussion with eight districts while holding

the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana programme. A lady, Mamata of Malkangiri district, told we should enhance our Biju Kalyan Yojana programme for women from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh.

“I’ve taken note of her suggestion and the benefits have been increased to Rs 7 lakh. This will immensely benefit our mothers and sisters.”

The Chief Minister announced the launch of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana June 12.
