CM kicks off Net-based redressal facility

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday launched an innovative grievance handling mechanism through social media in an attempt to improve the public grievance system and government-public interface.
The mechanism includes a web portal as well as a mobile app and will be an internal mechanism of the government to efficiently manage public grievances.
Launching the new facility at the Secretariat, Patnaik said that he will personally monitor the performance of officers attending the grievances of people filed through social media.
The internal mechanism will work among all government departments to manage the grievances received through the official twitter and Facebook accounts of Chief Minister’s handles.
Grievances received via CM’s official and personal handles will be forwarded to concerned departments and each department will have an official to respond to it within 24 hours.
Officers who perform well will be marked green, while below average performers will be marked red. Patnaik will meet officials of the departments to suggest improvements if required, CMO officials said.
