CM Naveen Patnaik to visit Bargarh today

Bargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Bargarh to distribute ‘smart health cards’ to a number of beneficiaries under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), Saturday morning.

In view of his official tour, all necessary security arrangements have been stepped up in the district.

According to the CM’s Office, Patnaik will reach Satibhata Airstrip near Padmapur in Bargarh at around 11.05 AM. From Padmapur the CM will proceed to Bijepur and land on a temporary helipad by 11.30 AM.

A special event has been organised at Bijepur area for the purpose of BSKY ‘smart health card’ distribution. The programme will to begin at 12.00 Noon. Patnaik will also dedicate several development projects in Bargarh district to the local denizens, an official source stated.

On the other hand, 18 platoon of police force, eight DSP level officials, 15 inspectors, 25 sub-inspectors and 40 assistant sub-inspectors have been deployed for the security arrangement. Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans, District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team will assist in the security.

“Thorough inspections will be carried out at important locations in the district,” Bargarh Superintendent of Police Rahul Jain said.

It is pertinent to mention, the launching ceremonies of ‘smart health card’ under BSKY were earlier conducted in Malkangiri August 20, Sundargarh September 14 and Bolangir September 22 this year.

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Patnaik had announced to provide ‘smart health cards’ to at least 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families in the state under BSKY. Each family will be able to avail treatment cost up to Rs 5 lakh per year. However, women members of the families can avail health benefits up to Rs 10 lakh in a year.
