PM likely to discuss Polavaram issue with Odisha officials: CM

Speaking to OP, a police official said, “This is a welcome decision by the state government for the cash-strapped police stations. Many times we have to bear general day-to-day cost from our own pockets as the earlier sanctioned contingency fund of `5,000 was too meager.”

In a tweet, Commissionerate Police said, “We are overwhelmed by the decision of the CM to sanction `40,000 a month contingency expenditure. Small amount for government but big step to improve transparency & service delivery.”

The Chief Minister also announced rewards for doctors and other medical staff who sincerely work toward improving public service delivery to people and deal sensitively with patients.

Chief Minister’s awards for excellence in public service will be the highest award in the field of healthcare in the state. It will comprise a cash award and recognition to be given away at an annual function. While `10 lakh each will be given away to 10 best doctors, other healthcare staff will get `5 lakh each every year. All staff of healthcare institutions that will achieve National Quality Accreditation Standard (NQAS) will get one month salary bonus for this achievement in a particular financial year.

Similarly, career awards will be given to healthcare professionals. Selected individuals will get promotions on the day of retirement. Regular employees who have served under the health and family welfare department for at least 25 years and are due for retirement within two years or less will get the award.

All officials of top three government hospitals which received Kayakalp and Lakshya certifications will be provided half month salary as bonus. Top five performing institutions under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative will be identified. Annual achievers will get an LTC abroad (regular employees) or training abroad (contractual employees).
