CM wants all projects to be over by May

Bhubaneswar, March 19: While reviewing road and railway projects undertaken for Nabakalebar festival, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday directed officials to complete all projects by May.
It was revealed at the meeting that while the double-lining of Sakhigopal-Delang (12 km) railway project was completed, Sakhigopal-Puri railway line doubling will be completed before May and will be examined by the railway station commissioner, sources at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.
Work on a road overbridge (ROB) at Malatipatapur railway station is in progress and will be completed by next month while the Yatri Niwas being constructed by the railway authority is set to be finished by June.
Construction work for two new platforms at Puri railway station will be over by March-end while development of two new platforms at Bhubaneswar station will be over by June.
Track-doubling of Cuttack-Barang line and Rajatgarh-Barang line have been completed and are waiting for the nod of the railway station commissioner.
Work on Malatipatapur bus stand has been handed over to Railway India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) and will be completed before May, sources informed.
The works department has undertaken 21 road projects for the Nabakalebar festival, of which 12 projects have been completed. Work is on in full swing on the other nine projects.
Similarly, of 13 road projects undertaken inside Puri town, seven have been completed and all ongoing road works are set to be completed before May.
Officials have been directed to complete construction of a flyover on Pipli-Nimapara road, Kushabhadra bridge on Gopa-Baliguali road, and ROBs at Samajnipur and Sakhigopal.
Besides, the state government is developing 21 parking lots for the festival, of which nine have been completed and the rest slated to be finished by June.
