Co-op Registrar warns latecomers to office

Bhubaneswar: Expressing concern over late coming employees, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) has decided to take action against them. The new Registrar, Bibhuti Bhusan Patnaik, issued an order regarding this,Thursday.

“The working hours in government offices are from 10 am to 5.30 pm. In spite of instructions, some staffers are habitually coming late. Employees coming in late will be marked absent and disciplinary action will be taken against habitual late-comers as well as employees who are absent without permission,” he said.

Patnaik asked all section heads of his office to check the attendance register by 10.30 am and place it on his table on all working days by 10.45 am positively for verification.

Sources said some officials of the directorate did not listen to the Registrar’s advice about coming to office on time while some left without informing him.

Recently, the new Chief Secretary, Asit Tripathy, had asked Secretaries to be strict about working hours. He had also warned government employees of action if they did not attend office during work hours.
