Bhubaneswar: Cobras have moved closer home with a hatchling found from a rice bag in the hostel in the Kedargouri area of Old Town here. According to sources, Sagarika Sundarray, an inmate of the hostel, spotted the reptile when she opened the rice bag Friday night. A scared Sagarika and her friends called the snake helpline following which its secretary, Subhendu Mallick, reached the hostel and rescued the reptile. About 150 cobra hatchlings were reportedly rescued from Dhamnagar in Bhadrak district a few days ago.
